Important Changes to the 2020 Indiana Association of County Commissioners' Annual Conference

The Unprecedented Health Emergency due to the COVID 19 pandemic has certainly changed many areas in our lives. Our 2020 Indiana Association of County Commissioners’ Annual Conference in not exempt from the affects. After much thoughtful discussion the IACC’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to limit the attendance at the conference to county officials only and cancel the exposition part of our conference. The safety and well-being of conference participants is our top priority. We have been required to adhere to a 25% capacity restriction and allow for social distancing.

The number of attendees permitted to attend the conference has been limited to 250 people (Normal Attendance has been 650). Additionally, we have had to make the following adjustments:

  1. Attendance is limited to County Officials Only
  2. The Grand Exhibit Exposition has been cancelled
  3. All training sessions will be held in one large general session meeting room
  4. We will not be able to offer affiliate breakout sessions (including, Auditors, IACHES, Administrators, or others)
  5. Face coverings and social distancing will be required in all public spaces.

All Associate Vendor Members that have already registered and paid will be receiving a refund and invoices for unpaid registrations will be voided. Alternative Sponsorship opportunities will be released soon.

If we determine non-commissioner county official registrations need to be cancelled for any reason, the decision will be based on whether the registration has been paid, date of registration, and the number of registrations made by the county.

A waiting list will be maintained once capacity is reached.

The Board regrets having to place these adjustments and looks forward to a full conference in 2021.

We understand the importance of needed vital training especially for the many ways this pandemic has and will continue to affect our counties. This year’s conference will be filled with many great training opportunities and discussions for County Commissioners and their support staff.
