Event Description: IDHS is sponsoring a free, one-day virtual workshop, providing participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity preparedness. Topics include personal accounts of cyberattacks and responses from various entities, the role of local government in cybersecurity planning, cybersecurity risks, prevention tools and more. The cybersecurity workshop is Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Compliant.

The Cybersecurity EMA Toolkit will be updated in early 2022 and will be discussed at the workshop. Additionally, the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan template for counties will be reviewed in detail. This template can be adopted by any county or local government and adapted to their individual resources and needs.

Who Should Attend: Emergency managers, IT personnel, elected officials, local government personnel, private entities and any other stakeholders that would and should be involved in the planning, response and recovery to a cybersecurity incident are welcome to participate in this virtual event.
