Welcome to the Second or Short Session of the 123rd Indiana General Assembly.

The  Indiana General Assembly is a part-time legislature that does not meet year-round. It convenes January 8, 2024. The length of the session varies depending on whether it is a long session or a short session. A long session occurs in odd-numbered years and lasts until April 29, while a short session occurs in even-numbered years and lasts until March 14. During a long session, the General Assembly creates a two-year budget for the state, while during a short session, it focuses on other policy matters.
